# Seven Kilos > Paste the packing list for a carry-on-only trip - item, weight, how many, which bag (cabin, personal or worn) - and enter the cabin allowance (one combined allowance for both bags, or a cabin-bag limit plus an optional personal-item limit), what each empty bag weighs, the nights and whether there is laundry. See a gate weigh-in printed as a receipt tape with a running total and a torn limit line, a bar per allowance split by kind of item, what wearing your heaviest shoes, coat and one layer saves, clothing counts against the days, and flags for liquid gifts and spare batteries. A metered check says what to wear, cut, swap, move, check or ship, plans how the clothes cover the days, and gives a fits / trim / check-a-bag verdict; the page re-weighs every move itself. https://seven-kilos.skillsafe.ai/ ## What it does - Free, in the browser (packkit.js, display.js): reads one item a line ("Winter boots | 1150 g | 1 | cabin"), a tab-, semicolon- or comma-separated spreadsheet paste, or a paste with a header row naming the columns. Weights take g, kg, oz or lb; a bare number is grams, except a bare decimal under 10, which is read as kg and flagged. - A bag's weight = the empty bag + every line packed in it; worn things are not weighed. Each limit is checked: over, tight (under by less than 300 g) or fine. In combined mode one allowance covers both bags. - The page's own wear moves: the heaviest shoes and coat in a bag (traded for the pair or coat you planned to wear, which then goes in the bag) and the heaviest piece of clothing of 200 g or more - never a second pair of trousers. - Flags: over and tight bags, liquid gifts (syrup, jam, wine) in a cabin bag, toiletry liquids, power banks in a cabin bag that might be gate-checked, more than two pairs of shoes, surplus tops for the days, gifts over 1 kg, nothing listed as worn, and every default it assumed. Its own verdict: fits (300 g or more to spare), trim (over, but 1 kg or less left after the wear moves), or check a bag. - Metered, one task `weigh`: 0-12 moves `{item, action, qty, to, says, why, swap_for, swap_g}` where action is wear, cut, swap (with an estimated lighter weight), move (between bags, separate limits only), check or ship; a 2-5 line rewear plan; 3-5 next steps; caveats. - After a check, one button rewrites the packing list with the counted moves (worn lines moved to worn, swaps at their estimated weight, cut / checked / shipped lines kept as # notes) so the tape re-weighs the repacked bag for free; the old list can be put back. The "Before you fly" ticks are kept with the draft in this tab. - The page holds the reply to the scale: every move must name a packed line on the list and quote it as written; it re-weighs each move (wearing shoes or a coat puts the pair you planned to wear in the bag), ignores swaps that are not lighter, warns when a "fits" or "trim" verdict still leaves a bag over, when a liquid gift stays in a cabin bag, or when a spare battery is sent to the hold. ## Limits - Every weight comes from what was entered. The 7 kg default limit, the 2.0 kg and 0.5 kg empty-bag defaults, the 300 g margin, the 1 kg trim line, the clothing rule of thumb and the 100 ml liquid rule are estimates and common rules, not any airline's policy - allowances vary by ticket. - Swap weights in a reply are the model's estimates and are labelled so. - Exports: Markdown (the weigh-in, the packing table, the moves) and a CSV packing list. ## Sources - Built on the SkillSafe skill @suzheng/k2f-travel-planner: https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@suzheng/k2f-travel-planner - Why now: 2026 carry-on guides report airlines measuring and weighing cabin bags and personal items at the gate, with gate-check fees of $50-150 or more one way, and many international tickets at a strict 7 kg cabin allowance: https://luggagewiz.com/new-carry-on-rules-2026 and https://travelandtime.com/guides/airline-baggage-size-and-weight-limits - API: https://seven-kilos.skillsafe.ai/api.html
